Meet the Mumbai family that built a Rs 25 Cr business by bringing German luxury kitchen brands to India

Posted on

In 1998, while visiting Japan, Hamendra and Rati Sharma would walk to the train station every day and see a store by Poggenpohl, a leading German kitchen brand.

Captivated by the luxurious designs on display, inspired the couple to start a business that would bring luxury and modular kitchens to India.

The duo made this dream a reality in 1998 by starting SIS Imports in Mumbai, bringing Poggenpohl to the Indian market. In 2015, the business was rebranded to Plusch, and is responsible for introducing several German luxury kitchen, wardrobe and furniture brands to India.

Their daughter Sukriti Sharma, who is a partner at Plusch, tells SMBStory, “Not many people believed in my parents’ dream because no one felt there was a market for luxury kitchens [in India]. But we pioneered the movement and brought brands like Poggenpohl, Eggersmann, and Beckermann for kitchens; Interluebke and Schmalenbach

Tend to faith, family and food in the kitchen

It’s time, folks.

It’s time to celebrate our moms’ and our grandmas’ kitchens with comfort food.

Why such a proposition as this time? Well, if more of the financiers of the hell-raisers turning our streets into violent pathways of anti-ism, the protesters would be too busy to drum up anger.

Perhaps even The Donald and Uncle Joe would have been kinder and gentler to each had they been prepping a digestible meal for Chris Wallace — digestible, for sure, being the operative word. They then would have been able to say grace, break bread together and spoon feed the audience. Instead, antacids and other tummy soothers were on the post-debate menu.

2020, it seems, is the year of upsetting apple carts, by any means necessary, which is why it’s time to take a leap.

Redirect that energy, soothe the soul.

Get in the kitchen, boil a pot of potatoes,

Window installer spied on N.J. family with camera he hid in bathroom, cops say

A home-improvement contractor was arrested after a Bergen County family he worked for said they found a small camera hidden in the wall of their bathroom, authorities said Wednesday.

Romeo Sanchez, 47, of West New York, was hired to replace a window in the family’s Paramus home in August, according to Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg.

After working in the home, Sanchez told family members he would return another time to finish putting in the window, Ehrenberg said.

One of the family members called police on Aug. 25 to report “they had found a suspicious electronic device” in the bathroom, Ehrenberg said.

“The device was later determined to be a micro camera with a micro SD memory card that had been secreted in the bathroom wall,” Ehrenberg said.

A police detective accessed the memory card and found video clips of the family’s bathroom along with videos of a bathroom in another

Tips to clean your kitchen to keep your family healthy

The kitchen in a family’s home is so much more than a kitchen. Sure, it’s where you keep and prepare food, but it’s also a high-traffic area that everyone goes in and out of multiple times a day for multiple reasons. It’s where meals, conversation, homework, bonding, bickering, and so much more happen. It’s also a place that can get really dirty, really fast because of all that traffic and it’s incredibly important to keep your kitchen clean in order to help keep your family healthy.
