The Horta Museum is located in the private house and studio of Victor Horta (1861-1947).
Built between 1898 and 1901 at 23-25, rue Américaine in Saint-Gilles, Brussels, the two buildings are typical of Art Nouveau at its height. The interior decoration has largely been retained, the mosaics, stained glass, and wall decorations forming a harmonious and elegant whole, down to the last detail.
Through an assessment of the architectural ironmongery collection drawn by Victor Horta, the Horta Museum has been able to update its inventory. It is now available online in its entirety thanks to the Région de Bruxelles-Capitale. We shall then discover the work of Victor Horta in the form of keys, knobs, keyholes… This inventory will soon be completed in addition to the one for the plaster models by the artist.
